First Post of the New Year .....

Well, after being reminded of my duties several times here and by G-Mail, I am here, although just for a short post.

Very little work has been done on the web site lately. I've been deep in the Forums, actually fretting over loosing one of the best I've ever run across. I shouldn't talk about the place, so I'll change the subject. Just hate what's happening to it.

We're having our shot at the cold wave that's coming through the South Woods now. It's 22°F here now, expected to hit 10° tomorrow night and mid 10s the next. With our two little Ladies outside on the Cat Porch, actually in the laundry room just off the Cat Porch, I am worried about them. They have their own little boudoirs, heavily padded and curtained, one being on top of the hot water heater, the other just next to it on it's own shelf, I've checked them not long ago and they are curled in, the body heat nicely warming the boxes. The little Granny Kitty, Spooky (I call her Princess after a little friend of mine, Princess Ebony, from a few years back) stirred only to slurp my hand. I had a few choice words from Smokey, a head butt, and a slurp, so they are warm for now.

We won't go into the problems of the other assorted and varied little ones that show up at night, sometimes 5 or 6, sometimes, only one. I do hope they have other warm places they can curl in when they don't make it back here while on their rounds of the neighborhood.

We can only do our best and hope.

All I can say is Damn the idiotic uncaring and just plain stupid people who throw these little ones out to fend for themselves.

Everyone look to the little ones. Especially those outside. If you can, bring them in. If not, at least take a little time, give a care, and make warm spots for them. They didn't ask to be out there on their own.

Buddy, Spooky, Miki, Smokey, Tedar, Rowdy, M'Lady Lisa and I send our Greetings to one and all for the New Year, and invite you to join us either here or on KnightOwl's Blather Blog. Links at the bottom of the page. (I think)

  2. Hey Eric. Thanks for stopping by.

Yes my little ones keep me hopping. After all, that's what they are here on this earth for. Such devoted little creatures. Such a shame so many people mistreat them as they do.

  3. Bless you for taking care of the little ones. I try to do the same myself. I've had as many as 6 cats (4 abandoned in the building I live in, 1 stray, one rescue, and one that lived in a grocery store that didn't want him anymore). Now I only have 2... the grocery store cat (Little Guy), and Morrison, who I got 4 months ago.. he was a stray hanging around my mom's apartment building. Right now my sister is busy with a mama cat and her 3 kittens who are outside. She feeds them everyday. She has 5 cats of her own, but would probably take in a couple of those younger cats if she could possibly catch them, but they are very feral.

  4. Thank you Myth. I'll do all I can as long as I can. It's the least I can do for the love and companionship they have given me and mine all these years. You're a good person to take on the ferals in the city the way you do. Take care and give my best to your sister. I hope the taming process takes quickly.
